What do we mean when we say"Commercial"?

When you hear the word "commercial", what immediately comes to mind? Probably lots of big companies and major businesses, perhaps with large office facilities, warehouses and fulfillment spaces, or even stores with product displays. It's likely that you're picturing a workplace of some sort, where the purpose of the property is to offer a place for business to be conducted. 

This is one way to think of commercial restoration jobs, as SERVPRO does handle many properties of this nature. Fire and water damage, or even cleaning needs, are important to be dealt with so that companies can be back in business as soon as possible. 

What many people do not realize, however, is that a large number of restoration jobs take place in commercial living facilities like apartment complexes. These facilities can suffer the same types of damage and inconveniences as businesses, but the difference is that residents of these facilities are not dealing with damage to their workplace, but to the place that they call "home".
